Rachel Pemberton

Rachel joined Nelson City Council as the Climate Change Manager at the end of 2021, having spent the previous seven years developing climate change and resource management policy at the Ministry for the Environment. Rachel has worked on climate change for the past 12 years in a range of roles, including through establishing the NGO Generation Zero, as Private Secretary to Hon James Shaw through the development of the Zero Carbon Bill and leading the team working on New Zealand’s first emissions reduction plan
